The only juice and smoothie you need

I changed my eating from lazy healthy to super healthy in early January. I loaded up on fresh fruit and vegetables, and cut out all processed food.

I looked up juices and wow there are a lot of different recipes out there!

I don’t like too much fuss. If things are complicated I never action them and get the ingredients from the supermarket.

I want those recipes to be easily memorized so I can buy them whenever I want. Then I get healthy super-fast as I have everything I need in the fridge.

Low sugar green juice by Monique Hohnberg

So, I created one juice and one smoothie that I rotate. These give me all the colours, and thus nutrients I need. I struggle with blood sugar levels and I don’t want to put on weight so I made these with that in mind. You need a nutribullet or vitamix.

Take a photo of them on your phone. As soon as you have made them once you will remember them forever. Easy peasy.

Mon’s Low Sugar Green Juice

One very long cucumber

Rocket or kale

Coconut water or H20 (fill to halfway)

Kiwi fruit or pear or apple

You will get that energy hit from eating super fresh, but without the sugar spike. It’s loaded with nutrients too. It is perfect for those who want to manage blood sugar levels, lose weight or stay slim.

Kiwis are my favourite as they have only 35 calories but your entire vitamin C for one day. You can add in herbs for extra nutrients if you wish. Parsley and coriander are good for your liver. Coconut water has electrolytes and a little sugar in it. Rocket and kale are SO good for you.

Mon’s Fuchsia Smoothie

Blueberries, blackberries or strawberries

One raw beetroot

Soy or almond milk (fill to halfway)

Cacao protein powder

Papaya or mango (anything orange)

I load it up with protein powder so it gives me sustained energy and doesn’t spike my sugar levels. Then I only need a small lunch. You can drink it 20-30 mins before exercise as beetroot really increases cardio energy. It’s a professional athlete trick. Berries are low sugar and absolutely loaded with vitamins and antioxidants. Add in yoghurt too if you want.

I took these photos of the drinks, and then drank them straight away! Btw, do you like my plant? It’s my favourite so I had to put it in the shot.

I love making my days flow and work in the best possible way. Maximum output, minimum effort.

Best,

Mon xx
