How to Rise Regardless No Matter What

Monique Hohnberg Snorkelling How to Rise Regardless No Matter What

I had decided to launch a website in November 2012, but soon after, in 2013, I relapsed again. I had to stop all my projects.

I was very ill – in bed everyday. After 6 months or so my health improved enough to read something more difficult than my current diet of novels and movies.

I had looked at Tony Robbins’s courses before. But his stuff didn’t sit well with me. How would I be able to chase all my dreams, create a life that was full and amazing, if I could only leave the flat 5 hours a week?

And to tell you the truth I was annoyed with Tony. He talked about how extraordinary people do amazing things and find their own level in this world – that is you’ll get to hang out with all these other extraordinary people.

But I couldn’t live like that. I was housebound. It felt like he was saying I was of little worth. And I knew without a doubt that was so wrong. That I was worthy, no matter what. So, I didn’t agree with him and was indignant on behalf of everyone out there doing it tough.

But still I wanted that life.

An extraordinary life.

A life of freedom.

Since 2001 the most I’d ever achieved with energy was 2 to 3 good days. And I’d had many relapses and was in the throws of one now. But, I wanted to be ready.

Time to Rise Regardless

I wanted to cram as much as possible into my ‘up energy hours’. If my week had 2 or 3 days of good energy, then I wanted those days to be maximum impact with no excuses. This was my goal at the time. I would live a life of quality within the circumstances I found myself.

So, I thought some more.

I wanted to know all of Tony’s insights and wisdom, and how his mind worked so I could think like that too and add that to my repertoire. Take from his teaching what I thought was important, and discard the rest.

So, I got over my issue with him. Well, I wouldn’t say over, but I gently moved it to one side.

Is there something in your life you are accepting but should not be?Click To Tweet

And really it was a cop out not to listen to Anthony Robbins, one of the best experts on personal development, and see what he had to say. I’d studied so many others already.

Attending one of his 5 day, live events – Unleash the Power Within – was out of the question, I was not well enough and did not have the money. So, I found myself between a rock and a hard place. I went to look at his courses. Luckily for me black Friday was coming up (this day in the USA where all the shops massively discount – it’s huge) so I was able to buy 4 courses for the price of about one.

I was worried that by listening to Tony I’d want all these thing in my life. And because I couldn’t have them right now I’d be jealous and miserable. I under estimated myself. I’ve lived without for so long, and had worked long and hard not to compare my life to anybody else. So, that was fine.

Personal Development Courses Arrive

Excitement! That box, when it turned up in the mail was huge.

I started.

I listened to Tony Robbins 5 days a week, 3 to 4 hours a day, resting in bed, taking copious notes. It took 8 months to do all 4 courses.

What I didn’t expect was that I’d love Tony Robbins. And Tony, if you read this. I want you to know you’re awesome. And I can’t thank you enough.

His voice permeated into my soul and helped me see how wrong I was. That living a life without consequence for the future wasn’t helping me or anybody else. I’d worked so very hard to accept my condition with grace and wisdom. And this was great, wonderful even, but I wanted more.

I needed to get better.

I needed to get help.

But I didn’t know how or where or anything! I’d already searched the world and done everything to get better. I turned my life inside out for various diets, supplement regimes, healing courses. You name it. I’d done it. For years on end. 16 years in fact.

Not knowing where to turn, but kept moving forward anyway.

In the meantime I had made a commitment to get my website up and running. And I came across Jeff Walker who created the very successful, Product Launch Formula.

Monique Hohnberg sitting on a boat

So, I bought Jeff Walker’s PLF Formula and studied. Even if I could only do a little a day, I’d keep at it and learn how to make a successful website. I wanted to be ready. So, when I got well I had all the resources and skill sets sitting there waiting. Even though I didn’t know if I would get well enough to start.

The course has this amazing community online. One night I posted on the Facebook group about my life so far. I don’t know what compelled me. But I am truly thankful to this day.

Mike from England saw it. He saw the struggle I was going through.

And left a comment for me that basically said, I got better you can too.

What? How?

I thought I’d successfully hidden my CFS status in that post. It’s not my style to talk about my problems in those situations, but he saw through it. How did he even know?

I privately messaged him.

He told me about a 3 day course he did on neuroplasticity. It saved his life. And that of his wife’s too. They both had had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and had been healed. To find a guy called Ian Cleary. He does the course in Australia. He was the one for me.

And so. On a wing and pray. I did. I followed the recommendation of a complete stranger who reached out to me on Facebook and it’s changed my life.

Rise Regardless 101

I deeply know that it was my core belief of never giving up that got me to this place. To always Rise Regardless no matter what it took.

I wanted a better life so I listened and followed Tony Robbins’s advice. I changed on the inside what needed to be changed. Of going from accepting my situation with grace, to deciding it was not acceptable.

Do not just stand there - How to Rise Regardless Monique Hohnberg

So that lead me to buying Jeff’s Walker course even though I didn’t know if I’d ever be well enough to implement it. Jeff changed my life, by adding value to it when I couldn’t see a way to move forward.

Which lead me to pursuing a rather strange, almost impossible to believe, Facebook message from a stranger on the other side of the world.

And that lead to finding Ian Cleary. Now, I’m using neuroplasticity to set up a new neural network to get my body and mind talking to each other in a better way. It’s made all the difference in the world.  And after 16 years on the couch I’m getting my life back.

I deeply know it was my belief of always Rising Regardless no matter what that changed my life.Click To Tweet

And this lead me to launching my own website. Woo hoo!!

Now, everyone’s life path is different. I don’t know the circumstances of your life. So I want to reassure you.

Rise Regardless Only & Evermore

If it feels as if nothing is happening.
It is.
Even if it feels as if nothing is working.
It is.
Even if you can’t see it,
Or feel you’re going sideways or backwards you are not.
If you have that belief of always Rising Regardless.
No matter what, you Rise.

And at times it was bare bones fighting.
Knuckles red raw and heart wrenched.
Yet spiraling inside me, a powerful force,
A flame that always overcame despair and loneliness and all the rest.
Even though I’d get beat down and lose hope.
I got back up again.

And so can you.

And when it came time to soar I did that to.
Choosing faith and courage every time.
I kept the fear cocooned safely in my heart,
I love the soaring. The strength and solidness of it.

I will always Rise Regardless
With every cell in my body.
To live my life the best way I can no matter the circumstances.
I believe.
To always Rise Regardless, no matter what.

And so can you.
It’s time for you to Rise Regardless.
It’s time for you to soar.

Action Item

Is there something in your life you are accepting but should not be?

Is there something you could do to improve your life’s situation but are not?

Are you saying can’t when really you it would be better to say, “I’ll give it my very best shot”.

What would your life look like if you decided to Rise Regardless?

Are you choosing hope or despair? What is a better way to live?

N.B. I cannot promise final outcomes. I wish I could, but I can’t. I can only encourage you to do your very best to Rise Regardless, no matter what. I can tell you, whenever I play full out with every fibre of my being, things always get better.

    Hey Monique,

Beautiful, beautiful prose! Having used neuroplasticity a lot – and in a number of areas – your words capture the invisible beauty of our brain to adapt, survive and yes, rise. Love it!
I’m developing a website, e-book and on-line course for business owners and entrepreneurs to use neuroplasticity in business. Same and different!

    kind regards, Rod

Monique thank you! I am semi housebound. I have 2 to 3 good days a week with only 5 to 6 hours a day with any kind of energy. I have high pain levels on top of CFS from bone degeneration as well as other problems. Your beautifully written post has definitely given me today’s morning motivation. I will check out all the materials you’ve mentioned. I do push myself, but I need more and I think you just may have given me that “more”. Thank you, God bless you and keep inspiring! Very well written post.
